Well, i actually did a big post about Jackson and His Computer Band 3 years ago or so, but recently just ran into this superb “late 90s Alex Gopher vs Richard D James” remix and started to play it out again. If you forgot about it too, here it is.

Ital
Ital is Daniel Martin-McCormick, he previously played punk, noise and some synth-pop in bands Black Eyes and Mi Ami. In 2011 he released 3 EPs as Ital, and many blogs called his new music “hipster-house”. I’m not sure about using these words, but his house seems to be really fresh. And it’s not only my opinion – Alexis Le-Tan and Soft Rocks include his every release in their charts, and his recent Hive Mind LP was released by the legendary Planet Mu.
Ital – сольный проект американского музыканта Daniel Martin-McCormick, в прошлом игравшего панк, нойз и синти-поп в проектах Black Eyes и Mi Ami. Музыканты часто начинают записывать хаус с самого начала своего пути, ведь для этого не надо собирать группу, можно делать все одному на домашнем компьютере. В таком контексте приход на танцевальную сцену артиста с обильным опытом в других музыкальных жанрах кажется ценным приобретением. И не только мне – большинство EP Ital непременно фигурируют в чартах Soft Rocks и Alexis Le-Tan, а его последняя пластинка Hive Mind вышла аж на легендарном Planet Mu.

Magic Mountain High – the Schnitzel Box vol. 1
Magic Mountain High = Move D + Juju & Jordash. I love and play a lot of their separate works, but their new EP together is just awesome. They put on some rocking deep house grooves and improvise upon them with analogue synths, a guitar and some beer. Well, check the video to see, how it happens. Magic Mountain High “the Schnitzel Box vol 1” 12” is out for about a month already, and I’m going to play it to death.
Я с удовольствием играю многие сольные работы Move D и Juju & Jordash, а уж пройти мимо их совместного проекта Magic Mountain High совсем не могу. Раскачивающий, жирный хаус с гитарными запилами и синтезаторными импровизациями поперек – смотрите видео. Хотя музыканты время от времени выступают вместе уже года полтора, их первый совместный EP “the Schnitzel Box vol 1” вышел месяц назад, и лично я намереваюсь его очень много играть в ближайшее время.

Этот трек, оригинально вышедший в 1983 году, был недавно переиздан лейблом Emotional Rescue, который специализируется на малоизвестных версиях танцевальных изумрудов из прошлого. Не знаю, что курили ребята, когда записали Brujo Magic, но я не отказался бы покурить того же – композиция будто бы предсказывает появление чрезмерно эйфоричных диско-эдитов, а затем саркастично топит их в около-дабовом космическом тумане.
